India's Geet Sethi won two matches at the World Billiards Championship in Leeds on Friday and now looks set to qualify for the quarter-finals.
The six-times champion had a tough encounter with Rupesh Shah, coming to the table 108 point down with eight minutes remaining, before fashioning a superb unfinished 128. Sethi had a much easier victory in his next game, beating Matthew Sutton 1199-223 and making a magnificent break of 517.
Mike Russell won his crucial match against Peter Gilchrist 719-393 with a top run of 222, while defending champion Pankaj Advani continued his smooth progress with an 818-469 defeat of Devender Joshi.
